THE Mandurah community has voted that Peel Youth Medical Services is a local matter, with the organisation receiving $300 from Grill’d.
The organisation picked up their cheque on Friday after Grill’d Mandurah patrons voted it to take out the top donation in Local Matters.
Local Matters is a Grill’d initiative which has the restaurant donate $500 to three local organisations every month, with the voted favourite taking home $300 and the other two taking home $100 each.
“It’s great that we received this as it means PYMS is more well known in the community,” nurse manager Shelley Wright said.
“That’s our struggle and the fact Grill’d is frequented by a lot of young people is great.”
The money will go towards much needed medication, including prescription pills.
