An Italian woman called Gabriella Goat is suing the makers of Peppa Pig, claiming she has become the butt of endless jokes because she shares her name with a character in the popular children's show.
Gabriella Capra ("goat" in Italian) is claiming 100,000 euros ($143,000) from the British producers of the show, which features a baby goat character.
Ms Capra, who is being represented by the Italian National Foundation of Consumers (FNC), alleges her problems began in 2012 when the goat was first introduced to the animated series.
In that episode the four-legged pizza-loving Gabriella bleats happily as she introduces Peppa's family to her village while they are holidaying in Italy.
Via the FNC, Ms Capra claims she has been "exposed to public hilarity" and teased by friends and colleagues.
She says any damages received from animators Astley Baker Davies would be donated to charity.
Peppa Pig is a global success story, being show in 180 territories.
It is not the first time the show has been at the centre of controversy. Earlier this year ABC chief Mark Scott speculated that Peppa may fall victim to the looming cuts at the national broadcaster, sparking outrage among under-fives and their parents.
Communications minister Malcolm Turnbull responded on Twitter that Peppa was "one snout we are happy to have in the ABC trough".
