CAPE Bouvard Winery and Brewery picked up a host of awards at recent state and national competitions.
The family business, brewing for just three years, entered the competitions for the first time before coming away with their awards.
The group’s Celebration Ale, a speciality chai spiced beer infused with orange peel and jarrah honey, was awarded a silver medal at the Australian Craft Beer Industry Association Awards.
Both the Cape Bouvard Blonde Ale and the Vienna Lager were awarded bronze medals at the Perth Royal Beer Show.
“We’re really pleased to get such good results for the first time we’ve entered competitions,” owner Edward Appion said.
“My son Peter is the one who does the brewing and he’s worked hard to get such good results.
“While other businesses do up special batches just for competitions, the lager and the blonde ale we entered were straight from the tap.
“Next year we’ll definitely enter again.”
Mr Appion said he was happy to get the results before the busy Christmas period to show what the business had to offer.
Cape Bouvard is at 185 Clifton Downs Road, Herron and can cater for functions, with coffee and light meals available.
