MEMBERS of the Peel Bowling and Social Club celebrated the group’s first open day at their new location in Halls Head.
The club now meets at the Halls Head Bowling and Recreation Club on 2 Sticks Boulevard and beginners and people of all abilities to are welcome join in for fun games.
The group have worked with Midway Community Care for more than seven years as part of the Alternatives to Employment program, which helps people with disabilities with life skills training and recreational support.
Club captain Morwenna De Luis said she was excited for the group to start playing in their new location.
“I want to thank our volunteers because without their generosity we would not be able to maintain this special club,” she said.
“I am grateful for out continuing sponsors Palace Plastering, Mandurah City Rotary, Mandurah Prestige and Performance, Mandurah Vehicle Service Centre and the Mandurah City Council.”
The club starts its summer season next week and the regular bowling days are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9am and Sunday at 2pm.
Volunteers are always welcome to assist players with disabilities.
