THIS year's IGA Perth Royal Show was full of fun for people of all ages and full of lots of furry and feathered creatures.
It is anticipated more than 400,000 people came through the turnstiles with around 30,000 thrillseekers screaming their way through Mayhem Manor and thousands of showbags snapped up by adults and children alike.
The most popular showbags included Original Idiot and Adventure Time, which flew off the shelves, along with the classic Bertie Beetle bag.
The super hero bags – Spiderman, Batman and Avengers - was a hit with the boys while girls lapped up Frozen, Littlest Pet Shop, Sofia the First and Disney Princess.
Judges sampled a record 1232 entries over 535 different classes in the IGA Perth Royal Show Cookery Competition this year and around 2000 people cast votes in the public choice section of The RAS Art Awards.
Halls Head artist Jos Coufreur won the public vote with his spontaneous and colourful acylic painting of a dog entitled Man’s Best Friend. In a first for the competition, he was also the winner of the $500 Sentinel Stockbroking Packers Prize.
As the show came to an end for 2014 on Saturday, figures showed 150,000 people watched the IGA Fireworks Spectacular, 10,000 prizes including trophies, ribbons and certificates were awarded, 30,000 toothpicks of cooked free range chicken was given away in the IGA Pavilion along with 50 kilograms of roast pork sampled, around 600 sheep were shorn in the Wool Pavilion and two kid goats were born in the City Farmers Animal Nursery.
