SMART Street Mall is set for a weekend shake-up with local police launching a crack-down on anti-social behaviour.
A zero-tolerance approach will be taken by Mandurah Local Policing Team 1 who say they will be out in force on Saturday night.
“Reports of anti-social behaviour and street drinking are putting people off coming down here,” first-class constable Mark McInnes said.
“One of the biggest problems is people ejected from licensed premises hanging around and causing trouble.
“This is not going to be tolerated.”
Const McInnes said he wanted people to be able to enjoy themselves in Mandurah’s entertainment precinct without worrying about out of control behaviour.
“If you cause bother around here, you will be dealt with,” he said.
“And if you cause trouble you won’t be coming back.”
Strict bail conditions will be imposed on anyone arrested during the operation with bans to be placed on entering the mall for offenders.
