TUESDAY, 9.15am: IN an ominous sign, the investigation into William Tyrell's disappearance has been given more resources, as the search for the missing three-year-old enters its fifth day.
Superintendent Paul Fehon said police are now very fearful for William's survival, and pleaded with the public for information on those in the area when the little boy disappeared from a house in Benaroon Drive, Kendall, on Friday morning
"If anyone out there knows of anyone in the Kendall area at that time, or has any information that might assist us, we ask them get in contact," he said.
Superintendent Fehon would not confirm if the investigation took greater priority than the search.
"Our priority is William's survival," he said.
The strike force into the boy's disappearance is based at the Mid North Coast Local Area Command in Port Macquarie, and was bolstered by new arrivals late on Monday.
Investigators from the State Crime Command and Manning-Great Lakes LAC joined the team at Hay Street, but Superintendent Fehon refused to discuss the nature of their investigation.
The search will today still include police and State Emergency Services personnel from the Hunter region, as well as other volunteers from as far north as Lismore.
