A $100,000 tractor was set alight after offenders broke into a pine plantation on Worsley Road in Lake Clifton.
Police believe the offenders broke into the plantation sometime between 6pm Friday and 3.30pm Sunday and used the big eight-wheeled articulated machine parked at the property to push over a number of trees.
The tractor, typically used to cart and spread super phosphate at the property, was then used to drive through scrub and destroy whatever was in the offenders' path.
The tractor was ransacked before it was deliberately set on fire.
The fire spread to nearby scrub land before fire crews could extinguish the blaze.
