A 17 year old from Craigie has been charged over an alleged assault in Innaloo which left an international student with life-threatening injuries.
Alex, a Russian international student at a Perth high school was allegedly confronted by three people, one of which was carrying a metal pole, as he walked to Stirling Station in Innaloo between 3pm and 4pm on Saturday, July 26, police spokesman Sam Dinnison said.
As he turned away from the man with the pole, he was allegedly struck in the back of the head.
The attack left the then-16 year old in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital for a month with a fractured skull which needed 18 staples.
Late on Monday police charged a 17 year old male with aggravated armed robbery and grievous bodily harm.
He is scheduled to appear in Perth Children's Court on September 8.
