VOLUNTEERS at K9 Rescue Group are celebrating their brand new buildings this weekend with an open day.
Local Federal MP Gary Gray will officially open the new kennel block, office and volunteer centre at 2pm on Saturday.
The day will see stalls, live music, a sausage sizzle and a bouncy castle on offer among other entertainment, and scheduled dog shows and vet stalls for pets.
“We’ve had a few open days in the past, the last one was in 2010 when we celebrated our 20th anniversary,” K9 Rescue Group president, Theresa Smith said.
“This one is because we’ve just completed the kennel block, office and volunteer centre.
“It’s for our supporters who have been waiting for this for years.”
K9 Rescue Group has about 100 volunteers and has been operating since 1990.
Ms Smith said the new buildings were developed with the help of Lotterywest and Royalties for Regions grants as well as community donations.
The open day will run from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, with the official opening from 2pm, all for a gold coin donation.
K9 Rescue Group is at 58 Sunshine Place, Nambeelup.
