WA Police unmarked motorcycle fleet has had its first major success of the Easter period with a man charged with drug possession after 27 pills were allegedly found in his car.
The man was driving in Dianella when an officer on an unmarked motorcycle saw him allegedly using his mobile phone, WA Police media spokesman Sam Dinnison said.
Mr Dinnison said a marked police motorcycle then pulled the man over on Morley Drive, near Randerson Place, and the driver gave a name but was unable to provide any identification.
The officer located the man's wallet allegedly concealed near the centre console which contained a different name.
A box of 27 pills, believed to be Ecstacy, was allegedly found under the driver's seat.
A 24-year-old man from Dianella has been charged with driving without a licence, using a mobile phone while driving and possessing a drug with intent to sell or supply.
He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on May 8 and his car has been impounded for 28 days.
