UPDATE: Police say a body found near the Kwinana Train Station is female.
About 10.40am Sunday morning a member of the public was taking part in a training exercise when they came across the body in bushland on Sulphur Road, Parmelia.
"The body is believed to be a female and local detectives are investigating the circumstance surrounding her death," police spokeswoman Susan Usher said.
"Her death is believed to be non suspicious."
Police and detectives remain at the scene with inquiries continuing.

HUMAN remains have been found in bushland near the Kwinana train station in Parmelia on Sunday.
The remains, believed to be male, were reportedly found during State Emergency Services training, about 50 metres from the station.
Officers were first notified at 10.45am and have investigated the area over the last few hours, police spokeswoman Susan Usher said.
It is unknown at this stage whether the death is suspicious.
