A GROUP of Mandurah women are joining forces to assist local residents living with health problems which lay outside of Medicare or private health care coverage.
Acystus Inc raises money for those with tumours or cysts and is currently organising a regular market starting the Easter weekend.
The Mandurah Community Markets invites market holders to sell their products to help raise money for one Peel resident in particular with a pineal cyst.
“The woman has had surgeries which have left her in major debt,” Acystus treasurer Kerry Ellery said.
“Even if we can help with half her costs, that would be awesome and such a help to her.”
The day will include children’s entertainment, a bouncy castle, pony rides, homemade gifts, health care stalls, a sausage sizzle, a raffle and an ice cream van plus a visit by the Easter Bunny.
“Having a monthly market is a great way to assist market traders selling their goods and get their name out there,” Ms Ellery said.
“And it provides some entertainment and some fun to the local community.”
Acystus Inc is looking for more outdoor bays for the day, which cost $10 per bay and can be paid on the day.
The market will be on the third Saturday of every month with larger fundraising events in the works.
The first market will be held at Nell Regan Hall on April 19 from 8am-1pm for buyers and sellers from 6.30am.
