A FAMILY'S beloved pet dog had to be put down on Tuesday after heartless thieves broke into the family's home in Perth's south and injured the 15-year-old pet.
According to police, the offender/s climbed a rear fence and picked a lock to a sliding rear door of a property on Tewson Road in Camillo between 9.30am-12.35pm to gain access to the home.
While at the home, the heartless offenders have snapped the dog's rear legs, leaving the animal distressed, badly injured and foaming from the mouth.
The offender/s have still gone through the house making a mess, pulling drawers and throwing items across the floor.
The owners came home to find their 15-year-old pet foaming from the mouth and despite rushing the animal to a vet, the dog had to be put down.
Police are calling on anyone with information, anyone who saw anything suspicious or anyone who was in the area at the time to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
