West Australian Transport Minister and Treasurer Troy Buswell, who is in the spotlight for allegedly damaging his taxpayer-funded ministerial car after drinking alcohol, is no stranger to controversy.

Mr Buswell has been on leave since Februray 24 for what Premier Colin Barnett had described as health reasons but revelations he may have had a car accident the day before have raised a number of questions.
Mr Buswell's most infamous gaffes include chair sniffing and bra snapping incidents in 2008, which saw him resign as Opposition Leader.
His private life has also made headlines.
In 2010, he and then Greens MP Adele Carles admitted they had been having an affair, left their respective partners and began a relationship.
The romance garnered further public attention when Ms Carles released details of the relationship after they broke up and claimed Mr Buswell had dry humped a well-known Perth businessman while drinking at an associate's home.
Mr Buswell launched a defamation case against Ms Carles in response, which was settled just last month.
February's alleged drink-driving incident is not the first driving incident Mr Buswell been questioned over.
Just a couple of months after being given the Transport portfolio in December 2010 Mr Buswell had to defend his driving record.
At the time the Member for Vasse was four demerit points away from losing his drivers licence.
He had gathered eight demerit points in the three years previous for travelling between 10km/h and 19km/h over the speed limit and had been fined a further five times for travelling between 0km/h and 9km/h over the speed limit.
At the time, he told reporters "speeding is not acceptable" he would "have to alter some of my driving habits and patterns moving forward."
In June 2012 when Mr Buswell was reappointed as Treasurer, Premier Colin Barnett acknowledged his new his less than squeaky clean background.
He said he had "absolute confidence" in Mr Buswell, that he did not think he was "going to make any more mistakes" and that he'd "ride him harder than Black Caviar was ridden."
