THE Tauri Litchfield trial has again been adjourned to give Children's Court President and presiding judge Denis Reynolds more time to consider a no-case submission.
Counsel for one of the youths accused of murdering Mr Litchfield in March last year argued her client had no case to answer this morning.
Five boys have pleaded not guilty to murder in relation to Mr Litchfield's tragic death where the 28-year-old fell and suffered fatal head injuries in a Pinjarra Road carpark.
It had been alleged the group of boys chased Mr Litchfield, stole his mobile phone and assaulted him while he was on the ground.
The trial has also heard evidence that the group of boys fled the crime scene, failed to call for any medical assistance for Mr Litchfield and later discussed the incident both out of and in custody.
Earlier this morning the prosecution was given an hour to strengthen its case for murder.
If Judge Reynolds upholds the no-case submission the charge against at least one of the accused may be dropped.
Today's events put a cloud over the prosecution's case which needs to prove the boys' alleged actions definitively caused Mr Litchfield's death.
The trial continues from 10am tomorrow.
