A FEMALE police officer has been stood down from her operational duties after a glassing incident at Murphy's Irish Pub.
It is alleged the woman was off-duty at the local entertainment spot when a scuffle broke out about midnight Saturday night.
It is further alleged the probationary constable smashed a glass into the face of a 20-year-old woman, cutting her above her eye.
The 20-year-old victim was taken to Peel Health Campus for treatment.
According to police the two women were known to each other before the fight broke out.
Murphy's Irish Pub owner Edward Janiec said the off-duty officer was removed from the premises while his staff treated the victim.
"This is the first incident here in seven months," he said.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
