Formed in 2020 from converging friendships and musical interests, Perth-based band Humble Armada have quickly grown to be a standout name in WA's live scene.
Friends and musicians Matt Simich, Ollie Kable, Patch Carlton, Luke Peachey, Ben Giangiulio and Jackson Maher have since established a solid live fan base and online following.
"We all had a background in music, but we were at the stage where we wanted to make it a bit more than just jamming," explained guitarist Ollie Kable.
Born and raised in Margaret River, Kable said the band's sound was influenced by their coastal upbringings.
"We've definitely been described as 'psych-surf'," he said of their ocean-inspired vibe.
...we want to try and break free from that Perth bubble a bit.

"Growing up in Margaret River and living in Scarborough at the moment, it's hard not to be influenced by that, we're all in the water pretty frequently."
Humble Armada had a busy 2021, releasing their debut EP in January, delivering three singles and multiple sell-out shows around Perth.
Recent singles such as 'Los Alamos' and 'Hurry Away' showcase the group's vintage leanings, combining a diverse take on the California surf scene sound, with modern pop structures.
Their debut album 'All Around You' was released in January of this year, under their own independent label, Minor But Major Records.
"We're super proud of what we've achieved with this album," said Kable.
"Being able to do those home recordings meant that we didn't have as much pressure on us with time, and money."
The result is a dreamy, 60s festival-era, rock and roll record, with a WA flavour.
"The Perth music scene is so vibrant, and so active, and there's definitely that distinct Perth sound that we're known for as a city," said Kable.
"We're actually pretty conscious of being too isolated and locked into one scene, we want to try and break free from that Perth bubble a bit. It's a bit hard to make plans for the future with COVID-19 and everything but we're looking into visas and possibly moving over to the USA at some point."
The band have already begun working on their second album, just weeks after the release of their first.
"We've been in the studio already," said Kable. "We're playing all over WA this month, we've been to Bunbury and Denmark which is awesome.
"I guess we just want to keep moving forward and experiencing as much as possible."
Humble Armada play Life on Margs at The River on February 12, before heading to The Fire Station in Busselton on February 26. The band will play Clancy's Dunsborough on Sunday February 7. For details, visit humblearmada.com
