Police have charged a 23-year-old Falcon man in relation to the assault of a taxi driver which occurred on the morning of December 4.
It is alleged that during a taxi ride the man argued with the driver before punching him. The taxi driver was able to pull the car over at a service station on Leary Road in Baldivis.
The charged man allegedly assaulted the driver again causing him to fall from the car before he was assaulted again.
The 65-year-old taxi driver was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.
It is further alleged the man crossed the road to another service station where he threw food items at staff and smashed an advertising screen before being apprehended by police.
The man was charged with:
- 1 x Aggravated robbery
- 1 x Aggravated Assault with Intent to do Grievous Bodily Harm
- 1 x Robbery
The man remains in custody and will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on December 5.
