Film crew have celebrated the launch of Mandurah short film Harold the Plumber onto the international film festival circuit.
"It was fantastic to have everyone under the one roof and to celebrate the team effort it takes to make a film. It was a special thank you to the cast and crew," writer and director Mark Regan said.
Hollywood-inspired glitz and glamour were on display as actors and crew walked the red carpet at Halls Head Bowling Club for professional photographs.
The crew toasted the end of post-production and reminisced about their experiences on set.
Harold the Plumber is a comedy drama about a self-proclaimed idiot plumber who drinks magic toilet water which makes him super smart but when the concoction begins making him sick, he must stop consuming the potion and discover his own inner talents.
Regan he said he liked the idea of exploring self-image and the need to realise and be grateful for our individual strengths.
"Creating this film helps me express my artistic themes of the underdog and questioning our reality," he said.
"I believe Harold the Plumber will make a viewer stop and think about their own self perception of negative self-talk."
Harold the Plumber was filmed at multiple locations across Mandurah including Make Place, Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, Christ's Church, Peel Thunder Headquarters, and a suburban house in Dawesville, showing off Mandurah's beauty and diversity of locations.
The postproduction editing at Halls Head studio took place for four months. The film is ready to represent Mandurah's film industry internationally.
"I am excited for the world to see all the hard work from the cast and crew representing Mandurah on the international screens," Regan said.
Harold the Plumber will be entered into numerous Australian and international film festivals over 2022. It will then be available online in 2023.
