Mandurah writing group, Scribblers will be holding a short story writing competition in 2022.

To help people prepare for the competition Scribblers will be running short story writing courses at schools and for adults.

The course will run from November 8 to November 15 at the Mandurah Arts and Craft Centre on 4 Tuart Avenue.

For the competition, there is junior high school, senior high school, and an open category for entrants in the Peel region.

The theme of the competition is experiences during COVID-19.

Each category has prize money for people who come first, second and third:

  • Open Category: First $500 Second $300 Third $100
  • Junior High School: First $100 Second $75 Third $50
  • Senior High School: First $150 Second $100 Third $75

Entries for the competition open on February 1, 2022 and April 1, 2022.

Scribblers will organise an anthology of the best works and publish them for sale.
