Windy and rainy conditions expected for most of WA

Windy and rainy conditions expected after sunny weekend

Looks like the sunny weather is coming to an end with very windy and rainy conditions due in much of WA starting early Tuesday morning.

A low pressure system will approach the lower west coast on Tuesday evening, resulting in very windy conditions with showers and thunderstorms in coastal areas between Kalbarri and Mandurah.

Widespread damaging winds are possible overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday morning with wind gusts up to 100kph.

In the south west including Mandurah, Bunbury, Busselton, and Margaret River there is a 100 chance of rain on Tuesday with a chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening.

A northwesterly swell will also affect the west coast with damaging and dangerous surf conditions possible from Tuesday evening and during Wednesday.

Areas typically sheltered from southwesterly swell, but exposed to northwesterly swell such as Geographe Bay, will see an increase in swell.
