Contemporary local artist Daniel McHenry worked with Ocean Road Primary School Year 5 and 6 students to create a mural on the water tank at school reflecting the Noongar seasons.
Last term, students participated in workshops with Daniel McHenry where they gained a deeper understanding of the six Noongar seasons, learned symbols used in Aboriginal art and then created artworks as a response to the Noongar seasons.
The project culminated this term with student artwork being transferred onto the water tank by the artist and students then painted the designs.
"Such an amazing opportunity for the children to learn hands on about about Aboriginal culture", one of the Ocean Road Primary School parents said.
"Dan is such a passionate, inspiring man and has such a wonderful connection with the kids in our community!"
The project was proudly supported by City of Mandurah's Community Grants.
