Assumption Catholic Primary School celebrated their 39th Feast Day this month, a fun-filled day for the community to come together to celebrate.
The day at the Mandurah school began with a whole school mass and a shared lunch.
Students organised and participated in activities that raised money to be donated to a non-profit organisation.
Activities included raffles, lucky dips, a longest throw competition, goal kicking challenges, lucky jars, nail painting, hair spraying and more. The fun was endless and the sound of laughter was heard throughout the school.
Awards were handed out to staff members, Robyn Dixon, Elaine Pimlottand and Kathleen Hill, who had been at the school for 10 years or more.
Principal Miranda Swann said she was was overjoyed to be able to open the school to the whole community.
"Along with all the fun that they are having, it is such a valuable experience for our students to raise money for the needs of others," Ms Swann said.
"We know the impact that restrictions due to COVID have had on whole school events and being able to engage parents onsite."
Parent Carrie Turner said like many parents, she was excited to be able to celebrate with her children.
"It is so nice to have the whole school, able to celebrate and be back together again," Ms Turner said.
The students in year five created bookmarks that were sold
"It was nice to be able to make bookmarks that people bought," year five student, Dayne said.
Fellow student, Kiara said she was was "thrilled to see so many people donating to charity".
This year's donations will be sent to the Peel Youth Mental Health Services, a non-profit that provides health services to children in the Peel region.
