A man has been charged after allegedly being found with more than two kilograms of heroin in a taxi in Sydney's inner west.
Acting on a tip-off, NSW Police stopped a taxi on King Street, Newtown, around 11.50am on July 30.
The officers spoke with the 27-year-old passenger and seized two vacuum-sealed bags containing 2.2kg of heroin with an estimated street value of between $500,000 and $600,000.
The Bondi man was taken to Newtown Police Station and charged with supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug and being outside his area without a lawful reason.
The man was refused bail and appeared in Parramatta Local Court on July 31, where he was formally refused bail to appear again in Newtown Local Court on October 7.
