"Turns out a reveal cover is a bit harder to navigate in the rain," read a post by Mayor Rhys Williams, who posted an accompanying picture of himself fighting against strong gusts of wind to reveal the City of Mandurah's second RYDE project car.
In what can only be described as 'graceful under the circumstances', Mr Williams managed to pull off the cover for onlooking volunteers.
"For some, who for whatever reason might not have the support at home, it can be pretty hard to get a license - that's where RYDE comes in," he wrote.
"The project links young aspirant drivers up with a volunteer, who provides support to learn to drive and get the necessary logbook hours to sit the final test."
Alongside Peel Volunteer Resource Centre, the City of Mandurah has recruited "huge volunteer support from across the community".
Mr Williams added that there were many reasons the project was important for young people in Mandurah.
"As most of us know, a drivers license can be a step towards achieving new dreams and aspirations," he said.
"For many, it's being able to take up employment or study, maybe pursue a new sport or hobby, or in some cases make a medical appointment or seek help."
