A Queensland man has been arrested and charged after allegedly abusing police and providing misleading statements to gain entry into WA.

The 20-year-old arrived in WA on a flight from Queensland on July 25, and had not completed a G2G pass prior to landing - after allegedly providing misleading reasons for entering WA, he was denied entry.

It is alleged the man made several false statements during interactions with police and provided inconsistent accounts of his travel movements.

It is further alleged the man verbally abused police and acted in an erratic manner.

The man was charged with:

  • Failure to Comply with a Direction (Emergency Management Act, 2005)
  • Gave False or Misleading Information
  • Disorderly Behaviour in a Public Place
  • Obstructing Public Officers.

He will appear before the Perth Magistrate's Court today.
