"Eat healthy, train, do recovery work, hit the physio and have fun with it," are the tips that have carried Casey Mihovilovich through 499 SBL/NBL1 basketball games with Mandurah.
Now, as she prepares to play her 500th game alongside her teammates at Mandurah Magic, with her family in the crowd, Mihovilovich says she is reflecting on how basketball has changed her life.
Mihovilovich grew up in a family heavily involved with basketball, with both her father and mother playing and coaching, and when she was 14 she began playing at a state level.
"I was in the first junior developmental team for Mandurah Magic," she said.
"I come from an extremely supportive family who love basketball, so I've always been around it and have always been involved."
She has had to push through injuries, surgeries and face a lot of adversity during her career, but said she was so grateful to her body for carrying her through.
I'm grateful to the game that brought me the love of my life and two beautiful sons.

"I'm so lucky my body has allowed me to play 500 games - I've had a couple of surgeries and I'm on a foam roller every other day," she laughed.
Throughout her seasons playing with Mandurah, Mihovilovich has seen girls go up through the ranks, and has played with them all.
"I think I have played with every girl who has ever played for Mandurah.
"It's funny... one of my good friends used to play with me, and now I play in a team with her daughter."
Throughout her career, Mihovilovich said she had met both her best friends and the love of her life.
"I met my husband Ben through basketball - he was coaching the men's team and I was coaching the women's team. I'm grateful to the game that brought me the love of my life and two beautiful sons."

When asked about the highlights of her career, Mihovilovich answered it was the women she played alongside.
"The girls are like my family," she said.
"There have been times where I was offered the opportunity to play elsewhere - but I stayed loyal, because my team are my best friends."
COVID lockdown permitting, Mihovilovich will have a huge audience cheering her on at her 500th game.
"I have about 150 people coming - and my parents will be there, they are amazing and come to just about every game - as well as my husband and kids."
Casey will be the first woman in Mandurah's SBL/NBL1 history to reach 500 games.
