Premier Mark McGowan has announced Perth and Peel will go into a full lockdown from midnight tonight for four days minimum.
He said it was a rapidly evolving situation and action must now be taken to protect the community.
Mr McGowan said there had been another positive case recorded on Monday evening and genomic sequencing has confirmed the original case, the physiotherapist who had visited Sydney, does have the dangerous Delta variant.
Mark McGowan called an 8pm press conference to announce WA had recorded an additional case.
The man, aged in his 30s, worked and had a meal at Indian Ocean Brewery last Tuesday.
The Premier said it was particularly concerning that the man had "only fleeting contact" with the original case.
It brings the number of cases linked to the outbreak to three. Genomic sequencing confirmed they all had the Delta variant.
It is the third lockdown of the city in the space of five months.
Schools and childcare centres will remain open, except for three schools listed as exposure sites.
Weddings are restricted to five people, funerals to 10 people and gyms, beauty and hair salons, the casino and nightclubs will close.
Mr McGowan said the lockdown would last for four days "at a minimum".
People will only be allowed to leave home to work because they can't work from home, shopping for essential items like groceries and medicines, attend to medical or healthcare needs, compassionate reasons and to get vaccinated.
Outdoor exercise is limited to one-hour per day and two people, not including children, from the same household.
No visitors will be allowed in homes unless it is for essential services, critical maintenance, caregiving and compassionate reasons.
People can only enter Perth and Peel to access or deliver essential health and emergency services. Restaurants, cafes, pubs and pars can only provide takeaway.
More to come.
