Mandurah Catholic College alum Bailey Norris is part of a football legacy which spans across decades in the Peel region.
The 19-year-old Pinjarra Tiger made his footy veteran dad Shane Norris proud last weekend when he was named best player at the Great Southern Colts Carnival in Kulin.
"It feels pretty good - it still hasn't really sunk in yet," Norris said.
"I went down there and had a goal to play heaps of good footy."
Norris studies a plumbing and gas fitting apprenticeship in Mandurah, and started playing for Pinjarra this year after a short time with Peel Thunder the year prior.
"I was at Peel Thunder but I broke my fibula in the first game," he said.
Norris' dad and brother have played for the Tigers, and when this year's league season rolled in, he was keen to join the family tradition.
"I've been able to play league with Pinni this year, which has been great.
"I started playing when I was really young and my family has always been involved in footy."
Pinjarra's star-studded team with Ex-AFL players and community legends alike, has allowed Norris to play alongside his heroes.
"It's pretty awesome - one day I'm watching them on television and the next minute I'm playing on a team with them."
The Colts Carnival is a unique experience, with the Peel Cavaliers team being made up of players from different local clubs.

"At the first few trainings everyone's always a bit stand-offish with each other," Norris laughed.
"It didn't take us long to get closer and start bonding to form a solid team.
"On the bus on the way down there we had already all gotten together talking about how we were keen to win."
The Cavaliers had an undefeated run at the carnival, and Norris said he was absolutely stoked to be named best player.
Now Norris has returned to his home team and will play round 11 with his Pinjarra teammates this weekend against Halls Head.
"It's such a good environment at training - every Thursday we have meals together after training. We all sit and chat together."
Norris' goal is to play in the league grand finals this season.
"I'm hoping if I keep playing well I'll be able to play in the league grand finals.
"My dad has won a few league championships, so it would be really cool."
