The article regarding Pinjarra Doctors (Mail, Jun 10) made me seethe.
There are no words in the English language to describe how angry and frustrated I, and probably many others, feel about this.
We are being begged not to go to the emergency departments at hospitals, but to our GP for certain ailments. If Pinjarra Doctors are restricted to how many doctors can provide service, the emergency at Peel Hospital will be even busier. Many doctors in and around Mandurah are not taking new patients as they are already overloaded so what other options are available? None. Do the powers even know what the population in this area is or do they just not care? Mandurah and surrounding areas are growing rapidly. More doctors are required, not less. We attend Pinjarra Doctors and most often have to wait weeks to see our doctor. This will blow out to months if this absolutely ludicrous zoning goes ahead.

No joy over banking
Banking at Mandurah Forum is a (sick) joke.
Wishing to pay by card a bill that said the contractor banked with a certain bank, I went there. I was told that because my bank card was from another bank, I would have to go there, which I did.
After an unforgivable wait, again there being only one teller to deal with a growing line of customers, eventually I reached the counter. Having handed over the bill to be paid and my card, which was returned, I turned to leave, only to be stopped by a staff member who told me my money was being made ready. Money - what money? I hadn't asked for any money. No - this was money to pay the bill at the other bank. Back to the other bank with the money, to do what I could so easily have done in the first place had I been told the need.
By perverted good fortune, being both ancient and unable to walk any distance I must use a gopher. To-ing and fro-ing between banks, as it turned out needlessly, would have tired legs younger than mine.

Military madness
No matter what the outcome of the Ben Roberts-Smith court case, the fact remains that these people should never have been in the war zone. Like Vietnam, our defence force was used to prop up the self-imposed involvement of the US government. Our defence force was never defending Australia or its interests. But still, our Prime Minister is advocating an unwinnable war with China. Military madness is killing our country.
