Mandurah residents can sleep easy tonight knowing the missing man, who was the subject of a widely spread police-alert text message, has returned home.
At approximately 11.38 pm on Wednesday, June 9, residents in Dawesville and surrounds received a text message from police alerting of a missing person.
The message read that WA police were searching for a missing 82-year-old man who was last seen wearing dark pants, with a white shirt over a green checkered shirt.
The text garnered a quick response from residents, with many Mandurah Community Facebook Groups posting about the possibility of searching for the man, who they were concerned about due to the severe weather conditions.
A spokeswoman from Mandurah Police told the Mail that as of today, June 10, the man has since returned home.
"The missing gentleman from Dawesville has been found safe and well," the spokeswoman said. "He has been returned home to family."
