The 43-year-old man who was on life support after an altercation on May 15 passed away on Monday.
The man was taken to Bunbury Regional Hospital on Saturday night with critical head injuries and was on life support.
Before he passed away, a 29-year-old man from Glen Iris was charged with grievous bodily harm and was granted bail on May 17.
Police media could not clarify if the charges would change as a result of the death of the 43-year-old.
Homicide Squad Detectives allege the 29-year-old and the 43-year-old man were involved in an altercation out the front of a Bunbury Hotel just after 10.30pm on May 15.
Detectives said during the altercation both men fell to the ground before being separated by onlookers.
The investigation is ongoing and detectives would like to speak to anyone that witnessed the incident, or that saw the men prior to the incident. It is believed a number or people were outside the venue at the time.
