The 2021 Peel football season has seen a number of new women's players and teams emerging to immerse themselves in the sport.
The Dwellingup Razorbacks women's football team is a team with players and coaches who pride themselves on their resilience and sportsmanship in the four years they have been operating.
When club treasurer Joanne Moore, who has seen the club through its past 18 seasons, found herself in the midst of a potential disaster for the women's team, she turned to the community for help, and the team's kindness was returned to them.
"Last weekend we only had 15 players playing against 24 on the opposing team," Moore said.
"During the game one of our players was injured, so we went down to 14 - the girls were crying, they were absolutely shattered and couldn't keep up - it was just terrible."
Despite the game's challenges, when the siren blew, the team went back out onto the field.
"My girls don't give up, we just keep soldiering on. We do everything we can to support women's football, it's so important."
The team spirit is amazing, you can live off of that energy.

Once the game was finished, a new challenge arose for the Razorbacks, the coming weekend they would not be down to 14 players, they would be down to eight.
"We couldn't send the team back out without enough players again - we couldn't do it to them," Moore said.
"So I got onto Facebook. I spent about 36 hours glued to my phone - and finally, the community came to my rescue."
After reading about the team's dilemma on social media, women from all over the South West reached out to take part and help the Razorbacks return to the field with a vengeance.
"The whole spirit in women's football is beautiful. And the Peel Football and Netball League (PFNL) have given us so much support. We have new players coming from Boddington, Serpentine, Halls Head, Mandurah, Rockingham - and we even have a girl coming down from Narrogin.
"We went from having eight players for the weekend to having 20, which was completely humbling."
The team is now rearing to go for round four, where they will be facing off against the Pinjarra Tigers.
"For us it isn't about winning or losing, we want to get out there and have a blast. The team spirit is amazing, you can live off that energy - and we are so grateful that the community banded together to make sure our girls could get out onto the field."
