The Mandurah and Regional WA Filmmaking Network group held it's inaugural gathering on Tuesday, April 13 at The Bridge Garden Bar, Mandurah.
More than 20 people came to discuss all things film and film-making, drawn together by a shared passion for telling and capturing stories.
Organiser Mark Regan said the group plans to hold future gatherings with a mix of activities such as workshops, networking and filming.
These will be held at various times from mornings through to evenings and in different spaces, including regional centres to cater for the variety of ages in the network.

Script writing group
Mandurah and Regional WA Filmmaking Network member, Surrey Hughes holds a weekly writing group at the Mandurah Library.
"Writing can be a solitary affair and often it is more enjoyable and more motivating to be surrounded by others all working on their own projects," he said.
"It doesn't matter what you want to write, be it a short story, a novel, screenplay, doctoral thesis or journal entries."
The group meets at 6.30pm each Monday.
"I'll be sitting with my laptop to the right as you enter. Come over and say hi," Surrey said.
