Child Abuse Squad detectives have charged a 19-year-old male police auxiliary officer in relation to several alleged offences against a girl known to him outside of his work.
It is alleged the offences occurred between December 2020 - March 2021, when the accused was 18-19 years old.
The accused began police auxiliary officer training in January of this year and began his operation duty this week.
The alleged incidents were reported to police Friday, March 19 and the man was arrested on the morning of Wednesday, March 24.
He was formally stood down from his duties and has been charged with:
- 19 x Sexually penetrated a child of or over 13 and under 16;
- 18 x Indecently deals with a child over 13 under 16;
- 1 x Impeded another person's normal breathing or blood circulation by applying pressure to neck; and
- 1 x Persistent sexual conduct with child under 16.
The man was refused bail and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.
