West Australian police say their investigation into the murder of senior Rebels bikie Nick Martin remains open after charging the man they believe pulled the trigger.
Martin was shot dead from long range while attending a drag racing event at Perth Motorplex in December with his wife and other associates.
His son-in-law Ricky Chapman, a former Bandidos member, was also wounded in the attack and a five-year-old boy was grazed by a bullet fragment.
A 34-year-old man, whose identity is suppressed, has been charged with one count of murder and two counts of unlawful act or omission with intent to harm.
The man, who is believed to have a military background and was arrested on Monday, briefly faced court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody.
He will reappear in court in April.
Police Commissioner Chris Dawson said it would be alleged he was the gunman responsible for Martin's killing.
Mr Dawson declined to reveal whether police believed the accused man had acted alone or been professionally hired, but said a $1 million reward for information leading to a conviction remained available.
"The murder investigation remains open and we will be speaking with other people," he told reporters.
"My message is clear: come to the police or the police will come to you."
The commissioner said detectives would continue to investigate the motive behind the killing and whether the accused man was connected to other parties.
Detectives executed eight search warrants on Monday across the Perth metropolitan area and spoke to a number of people.
A car and a boat were seized from the accused man's home and evidence was also retrieved from nearby bushland.
Police are keeping a tight grip on details that may identify those involved in the investigation due to security concerns.
Mr Dawson declined to comment on whether the alleged murder weapon had been retrieved or whether the accused had links to organised crime.
He also wouldn't say whether the man was co-operating with police or whether a tip-off had led to the man's arrest.
"We've got lots of information coming from not only gang members but also members of the community," Mr Dawson said.
"We encourage further people to come forward."
Tensions have been running high since the killing, with detectives launching multiple raids on properties associated with outlaw motorcycle gangs.
More than 100 people have faced charges, 136 search warrants have been executed and 55 guns seized since Operation Ravello was formed in December.
The Ascot home of senior Hells Angels bikie Dayne Brajkovich was targeted in a drive-by shooting earlier this month.
Shots were also fired at the Port Kennedy home of a Mongols bikie last week.
Nobody was injured and Mr Dawson said police did not believe either attack was linked to Martin's killing.
Martin was bashed by Brajkovich, the Hells Angels sergeant-at-arms, at a Scarborough pub weeks before his death.
Martin had survived an attempt on his life in 2011 when he was shot by a Rock Machine bikie.
