Mandurah MP and Minister for Culture and the Arts David Templeman is encouraging Mandurah residents to visit the new WA Museum, Boola Bardip.
The WA Government has committed to providing free general admission for at least the first 18 months of operation.
Mr Templeman said this presented a great opportunity for Mandurah residents to visit for the day and see all that the new Museum has to offer.
"The new WA Museum, Boola Bardip is an extraordinary attraction and I am keen for as many people to visit as possible," he said.
"Free general admission to the museum provides a great opportunity for residents in Mandurah to travel up on the train and see the extraordinary stories of this great state and beyond."
The new museum recently welcomed its 250,000th visitor since it opened in November last year, and Mr Templeman said this was testament to the quality of the facility.
"I know that there is so much for people to see at the new museum and the fact that we have now seen over 250,000 visitors since its opening is fantastic," he said.
Visitors can just turn up on the day, but, where possible, are encouraged to book their free visit online through the museum's website at http://www.museum.wa.gov.au.
The museum currently has very popular late-night openings until 9pm on Fridays until the end of January, with last entry at 7.30pm.
