Australia Day celebrations will be extra special for Keira Boggan and her family who will take a citizenship pledge after calling Mandurah home for six years.
When Keira and Daniel travelled to Australia neither was looking for romance when they bumped into each other on the first week of their backpacking trips.
However, the pair soon became a couple and spent the next two years travelling Australia before moving back to Scotland.
When they moved back though Mrs Boggan said Scotland didn't feel like home anymore.
"After spending two years out here in the sunshine and around the beaches it was something we were desperate to get back to," she said.
"We started applying for our visas and it had to be regional at that point - we didn't know anything about Mandurah but it looked nice but we didn't have any intention to settle here.
"It was just to do the two years to get our visa but pretty much as soon as we got here we've just fallen in love with Mandurah."
Having their eldest, Lola (8) in Scotland the couple went on to have two more children, Phelan (4) and Seren (3) in Mandurah.
This year is so special for us as a family, I'm just really looking forward to it.

Mrs Boggan said taking the citizenship pledge was the final step for her family to feel like Mandurah was their home.
"I do very much feel like a part of the community but for us just having that citizenship it will give us that feeling of belonging," she said.
"Applying for visas isn't an easy job so it's going to feel so nice putting that all to one side and just relax and for my children I want them to feel like this is their home.
"For any families that are still in the process just keep going because that feeling at the end is just amazing."
This Australia Day will be an extra special occasion for the Boggan family, as it is also Daniel's birthday.
"We are going to get our citizenship on Australia Day, which is a big enough celebration as it is and then we have his birthday," Mrs Boggan said.
"We have a few friends that are having the ceremony on the same day, which is even more special.
"This year is so special for us as a family, I'm just really looking forward to it."
