This year's Christmas Motorcycle Charity Ride raised $12,000 and collected a large amount of food and toys for disadvantaged children in the Peel region thanks to the efforts of the riders and the Freemasons of Mandurah and Rockingham.
The ride saw 450 road bikes take off from Pinjarra's Sir Ross McLarty Oval, ending their journey on the Western foreshore in Mandurah.
The money raised was distributed in the following way:
- $1000 to Pinjarra Community Kitchen plus food hampers and toys
- $1000 to UOM plus food hampers and toys
- $1000 to Camp Quality
- $500 to St John Ambulance
- $500 to Mandurah SES
- $1000 to Halo plus food and toys
- $1000 to Make a Wish Foundation
- $1000 to FinUCare
- $1000 to Riding for the Disabled
- $1000 to The Foster Share Shed plus toys
- Food and toys to the Rockingham Women's Refuge
- $1000 to North Mandurah Primary School
- $1000 to Greenfields Primary School
- $1000 to Riverside Primary School to help families struggling to provide children with the necessary educational requirements.
None of this would have been possible without the assistance of our sponsors, the support of the Masonic Lodges of the Peel District, together with the Mandurah Murray Ulysses Motorcycle Club, the City of Mandurah, the Shire of Murray, the bike riders and the local community.
