Complaints about damage caused by street trees is on the rise with one resident calling on the City of Mandurah to pay to fix her driveway.
The Mandurah Mail has been swamped with calls and letters from residents frustrated about damage to their properties and verges.
Halls Head resident Karen Sanders said she faced repairing her paving for the third time.
"I had to lift the pavers up for them to take the roots out then I had to pay to put the pavers down twice already - it's cost me $800," she said.
"It's cost me all this money and I'm only on a pension.
"Now they've removed the tree because it did die but the paving is lifted again and still dangerous."
After asking the city whether it would cover the costs of repairing the driveway, Ms Sanders received a letter outlining she had to fix it herself.
"The City has been advised that the verge treatment at the property mentioned does not comply with the City's Verge Development Guidelines and is a public liability issue," the letter states.
"As the tree has now been removed...it is your responsibility, as the property owner, to repair your private crossover to ensure that it is in a safe condition.
"It would be greatly appreciated if this could be rectified within three weeks from the date of this letter, or alternative arrangements may be made with the City."

Under the City of Mandurah's existing policy, if the works are not completed the City may undertake the required works and recover the costs from the owner of the property.
However, Ms Sanders said she was unwilling to pay for the costs again.
"I'm not going to pay because I've fixed it twice already - as a ratepayer I shouldn't have to be fixing damage caused by a street tree," she said.
"I want them to follow through and repair the damage it has done."
A review of the tree management policy is expected to come back to council at its November meeting.
