A group of aspiring student filmmakers are in the running to win an international film contest.
Austin Cove Baptist College's film titled 'Comrade in Arms' is one of just six finalists in the 1 minute Film Contest.
Throughout Term 2 the school's STEAMer members worked to create a one minute movie based upon the theme of 'World War II and Your Community'.
STEAMer is a group of 10 students who work to expand their knowledge and creativity in the areas of science, technology, English, the arts and mathematics.
The creative group of year five and six students brainstormed ideas, wrote the script, drew up the story board, decided on the camera angles, chose music and sound effects, shot the footage and the edited the movie with Adobe Premiere Pro.
"It was a really exciting and creative experience for all of the students involved," Student Services deputy principal Josh Lee said.
"We entered the movie into the competition and then waited...what seemed an age until October 5 when the six finalists were announced.
"And we were blown away to be selected as a finalist in an international film competition.
"Congratulations to all the students from the STEAMer project that made this amazing achievement a reality."
The winner will be announced on November 17 - with a possibility that the local production could be selected for the 2021 ATOM Awards National Screenings Tour next year.
These screenings will be free of charge and will visit most metropolitan and regional areas throughout Australia.
