A Wannanup woman has been left shaken after a man broke into her home, tied her to her bed and robbed her earlier this month.
The woman was alone in her house when the man forced his way inside just after 8am on Wednesday, October 7.
She initially hid from the trespasser, but she was found and punched in the face before being tied down to the bed.
The offender stole a number of items while the woman was confined, including cash, before leaving the house on foot.
The woman was eventually found by a friend, who freed her from the restraints before calling police.
A spokesman for Mandurah Police said the woman was in shock following the incident.
"It is a terrifying incident for the victim," he said.
"She's quite shaken up as a result.
"It is an alarming incident ... we are taking it very seriously."
The spokesman said there was no evidence to suggest the man was known to the woman.
Police are now on the lookout for a man they believe could assist in their investigation.
He is described as about 180cm tall, olive skinned, aged in early 30s with a muscular build, short brown hair (slightly ginger) and a scraggly beard.
They would also like to speak to the driver of a black VZ or VY model Holden Commodore Ute with a loud exhaust that was sighted several times in the street around 7.30am.
Anyone with any information relating to this incident or footage of the street around the above times, is asked contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at crimestopperswa.com.au
