Talented Mandurah golfer Kathryn Norris will make a long-awaited return to tournament play when she hits the fairways at the WA Open this weekend.
One of Australia's leading amateur golfers, Norris has made a name for herself in recent years and will be eager to continue climbing to new heights at the Golf WA event.
Like many golfers around the world the young star has had to sit patiently through the coronavirus pandemic, as tournaments and events were continuously postponed.
But many Mandurah golfers are starting to return to the green as the situation stabilises in WA.
Mandurah professionals Braden Becker and Cooper Geddes both competed in the WA PGA Championship last weekend, an event that marked a significant milestone as the state's first tournament since the COVID-19 shutdown.
"We are clearly delighted that these two iconic WA golf tournaments will be held this year," Golf WA chief executive Gary Thomas said.
"We acknowledge we have been fortunate in WA for many of our sporting events to proceed with crowds able to attend, and these two events will give golf fans the opportunity to see high class professional golf, for free."
