More than one million West Australian households are set to receive a $600 credit towards their next power bill.
WA Premier Mark McGowan is expected to announce the credit alongside energy minister Bill Johnston in Bicton today, with the $650 million commitment forming a key part of Thursday's pre-election state budget.
The one-off credit is expected to come as an early Christmas present for most West Australians, with November 1 the expected roll out date.
According to a report by The Sunday Times, the credit will be able to be used across multiple bills, meaning many West Aussies won't pay for power for four months.
The state budget has been delayed since May due to the pandemic.
