Comet Bay College has another trophy to add to its cabinet after its Upper School Girls' team won the Freo Dockers Cup grand final this week.
Comet Bay College played La Salle College in the decider and Health and Physical Education teacher Sam Mainwaring said an impressive performance resulted in a 26-12 win.
"The team, made up of Year 9, 10 and 11 students from our Girls Football Program, made the College proud, not only their impressive on-field performances but with the way they conducted themselves right throughout the competition," Mr Mainwaring said.
"Seeing the girls enjoy, what was for most, their first-ever grand final win was a really special moment and was a great reward for all their hard work."
Ashlin Crawford captained the team and Isla Smith was best on ground.
Each year more than 1250 schoolgirls participate in the Freo Dockers Cup and 2020 marked the 25th year of the competition, which is coordinated by the West Australian Football Commission and the Schoolgirls Advisory Committee.
