An outstanding mum, animal lover and great artist.
That is how Daniel Moses described his beloved wife Stef, who recently lost her two-year battle with bowel cancer at the age of 35.
Taking a break from preparations for Thursday's funeral, Daniel sat down with the Mail to remember the "resilient, tough and loving" woman he fell in love with 17 years ago.
Relentless fighter
Stef had been given the news her cancer was terminal when she was first diagnosed, but that didn't stop her from fighting for two and a half years.
"She did 41 rounds of chemo and she did radiation treatment - she kept trying to find new avenues of treatment and she even re-tried chemo that hadn't worked previously," Daniel said.
"She never whinged, moaned or said anything negative during her whole battle."
In a tribute to Stef, her brother-in-law Anthony Moses also said she fought hard to beat cancer.
"She fought hard, stubborn, relentlessly, never taking a break and always asking for the strongest treatment," he said.
A big heart
From a loving mum to an animal rescuer, Daniel said Stef always put others first.
"No one that met her could fault her on who she was as a person," he said.
"She always put herself second to others in everything she did.
"She was an outstanding mum as it was all about the kids and she fought so hard for them.
"She had a big heart for animals too and she started up the Long Nose Society to help adopt greyhounds."
Tributes flow
As family and friends grapple with Stef's passing, tributes show she left an impression on everyone she met.
The South Fremantle Football Club offered their condolences to Stef, who was a lifetime member of the club, by wearing black armbands for her during last week's game.
Stef's brother-in-law Anthony described her as having a "kind and caring nature" in his tribute.
"Stef always encouraged action in a positive way for her heartfelt causes, with a quiet conviction through her children, her greyhounds and her art," he said.
"If we can learn anything from Stef's journey it would be if you want to change the world for the better, start with your household and do it selflessly, continuing to give to others rather than drawing attention to yourself."
With family and friends wanting to give Stef "the send-off she deserves", Daniel says he is raising funds to help with funeral costs.
