Though it sounds mean, a bad soccer team is much like an old bra.
It has no cups and minimal support!
But you won't find this with Mandurah City Football Club's Women's team, because when it comes to supporting and encouraging each other, you'll get plenty of it with the gals.
In 2016, Mandurah City FC didn't have any women's team and now they have two squads; one in the Metro Division and a Woman's State League Team.
This is a fantastic achievement for the club and representing women's sport for the Mandurah community.
Mandurah City FC have players in both woman's teams coming together between the ages of 16 to late 50's.
They are hoping to have a third team next year as well, and continue to encourage woman to come down and play, even if they have never played before.
The women from the team are goal-orientated and hence the squad are putting together a fundraising event.
Their fundraising events are a great way of encouraging women to come and enjoy the sport, without feeling the pressure of paying fees.
The club is also lucky to have local businesses which support the team, such as the Peelwood Parade Family Medical Practice, Eco Spa and Lockdown Security Solutions by sponsoring its kits.
On Friday, October 2 the women of Mandurah City FC are hosting a fundraiser event filled with fun and laughter.
The event will take place from 7pm - 12 midnight at the Securitas Protect stadium.
