Pinjarra product David Yaccob will be hoping to put his best foot forward when he showcases his ability to elite level talent scouts in two NAB AFL All-Stars Exhibition matches next month.
The young Peel Thunder colts star was named among the WA under 18s squad of 57 on Friday morning, which will be split in two for the exhibition games as players look to build their credentials ahead of the AFL's National Draft.
Yaccob has been influential in his eight games for Peel's colts outfit this season, averaging a shade over 20 disposals.
He tallied a season-high 29 in a recent clash against Swan Districts, which also saw him take three marks and lay a pair of tackles in a well-rounded performance.
He followed that up with 23 disposals, five marks and three tackles against South Fremantle the week after.
Yaccob was also named Western Australia's MVP at the national under 16s championships in 2018.
Star Perth forward and potential number one draft pick Logan McDonald headlines the talent in the games, while Swan Districts defender Denver Grainger-Barras has been touted as a top-five possibility.
The exhibition games will be a platform for WA's young talent to shine in front of AFL clubs, given the NAB AFL U18 National Champions were cancelled for season 2020 due to COVID-19.
Game one will be played at Mineral Resources Park on Saturday, October 10, starting at 11.30am.
Game two details are still being finalised for October 17.
WA state talent manager Adam Jones congratulated all of the players selected and praised the work of players and staff throughout a challenging season.
"Given the change of format this season, these two games provide the perfect opportunity to showcase all the talent Western Australia has to offer," he said.
"The squad includes players from our program in 2019, strong performers in the WAFL colts competition and a glimpse into the future with 2021 draft prospects.
"Players inside the squad of 57 are guaranteed to play at least one of the two games and there is the possibility to add to the group over the coming weeks."
