The Mandurah Seniors and Community Centre recently hosted its first live concert post-COVID.
To open the event, Mayor Rhys Williams took to the stage, welcoming the audience members and community groups in attendance.
The mayor thanked everyone for attending and said he understood how difficult the past months have been and wished the audience well.
He then introduced the two performers and 1960s legends, Eddie Storm OAM and Kelly Green.
All the seats provided by the staff at the Centre were full on the day, with all distancing rules followed, but this did not stop the audience from singing along to some of the biggest hits, from yester' year.
Storm and Green performed solos; Green performing one of her feature songs, What a Wonderful World, and Storm doing one of the songs he performed for the troops in Vietnam in 1969, He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother, which was at the request of an audience member.
Storm and Green ended the show by singing Bye Bye Love together; everyone joined in.
The show was also recorded for Facebook. Anyone who missed the performance can find the link on the Mandurah Seniors page.
Forthcoming live concerts will be held on the first Wednesday of each month.
On September 2 Wayne Pride and Moira Scott will be performing some great country hits and an array of mixed music.
All groups from the general community are welcome to these concerts and all other activities planned at the Centre throughout 2020.
